This site has been ad-free for nearly 4 years, but now I’m playing with advertising. I hope you won’t find it intrusive, and I certainly don’t plan on having adverts pop up all over the place.
However, I hope you’ll realise that it’s one way to control costs and enable me to bring you more quality content for the years to come.
Please let me know what you think, and if you are all finding the adverts really awful then I’ll have to work out what to do next.

I think the advertising is a great move. Would you mind sharing any details on how you went about it…how much you charge, etc.? I’ve been thinking of doing the same on my site and possibly on a private blog. Thanks.

Brad, I’m using Adify and to be honest I have yet to get my head around exactly the best way to get it to work. Ask me again in a couple of months! The rates of pay depend on page impressions (dependant on site traffic) and also how many people click the adverts.
IMHO these adverts do not detract from the website or its content.

First of all, I must say that you have a good site and nice content. All of us know that there are no free lunches. Also , If you are not charging a dime for your content then you need to monetize it , Once you start getting traffic!. It doesn’t hurt anybody . Just Go for it without any guilt.
