Blog downtime
If you tried to access A Girl’s Guide to Project Management last night/this morning (depending on where in the world you are) it might not have been here.
A Small Orange, who have hosted my blog since I read good things about them from Petite Anglaise, have had problems brought on by an attack on some of their servers.
No passwords or customer information is affected, but they have warned that during a short period of time during the attack, sites may have been redirected to a malware page promoting a “Web Accelerator” program. This file contains a virus identified as “Backdoor.Win32.VanBot!IK.” Though the exposure time was very short, (less than 30 minutes) there is a possibility that users may have downloaded it.
They have suggested that I inform you of this and recommend that you run a virus scan and take measures to ensure your system is clean if you happened to download it.
If you came here looking for information and advice on project management and then got redirected to another website asking you to download something to make your internet run faster I would hope that you didn’t click ‘download’. Still, I feel it is worth bringing to your attention just in case.
A Small Orange are an excellent hosting company and I know they have put this right already.
**Update**
Hmm, I might have spoken too soon. Looks like I’m having a problem with categories – it’s under investigation.
**Update**
All fixed now!
