The future of knowledge technologies

April 29, 2009

I have been almost permanently hungry since Saturday and I have no idea why, but it’s not one of the symptoms of swine flu so I’m not too worried.  I knew that I wouldn’t be getting dinner until late last night as I was going to the Gurteen Knowledge Café, hosted by the BCS as [...]

The 80/20 rule

April 29, 2009

This month in the Office Goddess series, I want to look at the Pareto principle, otherwise known as the 80/20 rule.
As an Office Goddess, you make everything you do look effortless, although afterwards you can explain just how complex it was.  No whinging while doing the task, mind.  There’s no real secret to getting everything [...]

Book review: SharePoint for Project Management

April 27, 2009

That’s the major failing of this book.  Microsoft SharePoint doesn’t integrate with Microsoft Project, so I’m pretty sure it doesn’t integrate with anything a little bit more out of the box like LiquidPlanner or Genius. April 6, 2009

BCS, e-skills UK and Intellect, in association with the Department for Business [...]

And over at…

April 3, 2009

I did my first Twitter interview with Kim Beasley on Friday: a very surreal experience.  It’s hard to condense your answers to 140 characters.  We chatted about project management and some strategies for new project managers and businesses to ensure they get the best out of their project initiatives.
You can read an edited version of [...]

Five things I want to do before I’m 35

April 1, 2009

I’ve just come back from Jukkasjärvi in Sweden, a place I’ve wanted to visit for ever because it’s where they build the magnificent Ice Hotel every year.  It was on the list of things to do before I hit 30, but I didn’t make it.
It struck me as a coincidence that just as I came [...]
