New Year’s resolutions…

by Elizabeth on 5/01/2009

I don’t make New Year’s resolutions.  There isn’t any point, as I know I am going to break them.  I have always said that if I’m tempted to make a resolution I’ll live with the idea through January and then make the resolution in February.  I never get as far as making resolutions in February, by then I have already fallen off the bandwagon!

Still, this year I have two things I am going to try to do.  I have given up alcohol for January, except when I’m not in the UK.  I only have one overseas trip planned this month, and normally with those friends we don’t leave the lunch table until it’s dark outside and my old boss has ordered a final round of coups de champagne, so I have no chance of staying sober then.  I also intend to lose some of the weight that has resulted from eating too many Walnut Whips over Christmas.  I re-arranged the plate of Walnut Whips in the kitchen on Boxing Day so it wouldn’t look like I had taken one, but I got caught red-handed just after I’d shoved a whole one in my mouth, and it was hard to protest my innocence with a mouth full of chocolate.

That’s the limit of my resolutions.  If you’d like to make some project management resolutions, have a look at Stepping into Project Management.  Soma has gathered the top three ‘must do’s’ from five project managers (including me!) and you are bound to find some inspiration for things to prioritise during 2009.  Happy New Year!
