Looking for a new job?

by Elizabeth on 30/01/2009

With the economy being as it is, there are plenty of people job hunting at the moment, although project management roles are not being hit as hard as other sectors.  Still, if you are in the market for a new role, project-management-jobs.info may help.  Lonnie Pacelli has started a site to bring together resources for project managers looking for new jobs.

And here are a few resources not on Lonnie’s page:

You might also find Who Gets Promoted, Who Doesn’t and Why useful, especially if you are looking to move internally or facing restructuring within your current department.  You can read my review of the book here.

There is also the PMStaff website run by the UK magazine Project Management Today.

**31/1/09: UPDATE**

I have just heard from Lonnie that he has updated his page, and there are now new resources listed.  Thanks, Lonnie, for passing that on!

Elizabeth, I picked up Who Gets Promoted on your recommendation when you first reviewed the book. I read it then. I just reread it. It was very eye opening. It helped me reframe some discussions I’d had with my manager. I’m still working to put pieces into action and just the parts I’ve done are helping with the forward progress. I’d forgotten where I’d heard about the book and had to comment when I read this post and saw the link. Thanks for the resource!

I’m glad you found it useful! I did too – it’s very enlightening as to what other people see as important. Good luck with your career path!
