Carnival of Project Management #23 | A Girl's Guide to Project Management

Carnival of Project Management #23

November 4th, 2008

Welcome to the October/November, 2008 edition of the Carnival of Project Management.  Over 90 entries, most of which were dross, so I have sorted out the best for you.  The glitches on blogcarnival.com seem to be resolved, and even better, they now give me WordPress-friendly html!

Rich Maltzman, PMP presents Knotty, knotty project! posted at Scope crêpe, saying, “We deserve an award!”

Simon Stapleton presents Seven Ways to Look Busier and Keep the Axe from Falling On Your Head posted at Career & Personal Development for CIOs, Technical Professionals and Self-Professed Geeks, saying, “Many of us are nervous about the future – are there job cuts around the corner? Well here are seven ways to appear busier! Don’t be at the top of the list of people in for the chop.” I thought this was funny. Simon also submitted a post about Twitter, which isn’t so relevant to project management but Twitter does have relevance to project management, and I hope I’ll get the chance to explain that shortly.

GeekMBA360 presents The “4 Basic Things” to turn around your project and get project done posted at GeekMBA360. Thanks for submitting, Bill, and welcome to the Carnival!

John Gough presents Benefit Realisation: 10 Questions for Your Organisation. posted at iJournal, saying, “Hi Do we as project managers spend too much time on deliverables and too little time delivering benefits. Check if that is true for your organisation.”

CraigBrown presents What is Project Scope? What should it be? posted at Better Projects, saying, “The guys at the IIBA and I have been having a conversation on the nature of project and product scope. The PMI has one view, but is it sufficient today?”

Josh Nankivel presents Systems for Knowledge in Project Management posted at pmStudent.com.

Andrew Meyer presents What Makes a Project Succeed? The Project or the Management? posted at Inquiries Into Alignment, saying, “Asks whether it is the project or management which makes a project succeed. An interesting example is provided.”

That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of carnival of project management using our carnival submission form. Past posts can be found on the blog carnival index page.
