Carnival of project management #3

by Elizabeth on 23/10/2006

How is it possible to ladder a pair of fishnet tights? They already have holes in. Fishnets are, for the second autumn in a row, the must-have fashion accessory for the project-manager-about-town. Normally, when tight-wearing season kicks in, I put a spare pair in my desk drawer for just such an emergency. I didn’t think it was necessary for fishnets, but, defying the they-can’t-be-laddered logic today I have realised I was running a wardrobe risk by not having a contingency pair.

I digress. Welcome to the October 23, 2006 edition of carnival of project management.

Peter Kua presents Wanna be more productive? Trash that bloody PDA! posted at RadicalHop.com. It’s an opinionated piece but I have to agree that pen and paper is better.

Pawel Brodzinski presents How to Improve Your Scheduling posted at Software Project Management, which is a few good ways to make your planning more accurate.

Phil B. presents Phil for Humanity: Overcoming Laziness posted at Phil for Humanity.

Robert McIlree presents Project Management Methodology Conundrums posted at Robert McIlree, which, he says is a, “commentary about methodology-related problems on projects and the anti-Agile backlash that has been forming recently.”

Ian Welsh presents The Art of Measurement posted at The Agonist. Some ideas on management metrics which might be interesting for benefit tracking.

Work, in Plain English presents Quickie Time Tracking posted at Penina Finger, saying, “Pen-and-napkin time tracking for a quick visual of where you are and what’s still needed.” Penina always has interesting things to say!
