Scope Management presentation at the BCS

by Elizabeth on 1/03/2006

I will be speaking about Scope Management at the British Computer Society in London on 11 May.

Scope is one of the many bugbears of the project manager, and forms part of the ‘golden triangle’ along with cost and quality. This session will look at why scope management is so important and what project managers can do to avoid the traps of assumptions, implied organisational knowledge and scope creep. We will look at the mental model mismatch, how to involve users in scope definition and the two essential things that need to be included in your scope, whatever the project.
